Being an HVAC technician’s wife is really hard sometimes.
I know it seems like it would be a life of luxury and leisure, but it’s really not that way most of the time.
Most of the time, I’m calling and asking what time he’s going to be home so I can figure out what we are going to do for dinner. And then when it’s a holiday weekend or something like that, you can just forget about it. When you’re married to an HVAC technician, you would be surprised to find out that just about everyone out there seems to have trouble with their heating and cooling system when it’s a weekend or a holiday. It really makes me mad when we are having a family dinner or getting ready to do something over a holiday weekend and his HVAC company beeper goes off and he has to go into work. He always says that it’s going to be a quick air conditioning repair job or a really quick furnace fix, but of course, we all know how that goes. Quick HVAC repair jobs always end up lasting for hours and then our plans get ruined. It’s so annoying. Not only that, but whenever he has to go into work when he isn’t supposed to, he doesn’t usually get paid time and a half. He’s working on a salary these days, but I don’t think it’s the best deal for us. I just think that being an HVAC technician’s wife is really hard. I don’t know if this is what I signed up for when we got married!
