Is every thief simply compelled to do what they do? I mean I have known some people who are well off but, will rip someone off in a heartbeat.
But others, have to steal in order to feed addictions & in some cases, their family.
I sometimes wonder what goes through the criminal mind. The community I live in was once a absolutely, absolutely safe arena to live in this area. That feeling of security has abruptly been peeled away. The two of us are seeing far more cars being broken into just for change or cigarettes on the dash. It hit home for sure not too long ago. I came home from labor 1 night to find a appealing friend on her front steps with her head in her hands. I hustled over to see if I could help her. As I got to her yard, I could see the inside of the Heating & A/C condenser lodgeet scattered all over her sod. The terrible lady was in tears. She was sobbing which broke our heart & made me uncomfortable at the same time. It was strenuous for her to even talk. All she could do was just shake her head & stare at the destroyed Heating & A/C unit. Thieves must have snuck up to her home & abruptly went about destroying the Heating & A/C unit. This was clear as they sure weren’t after select, fancy components. No, it was a rip job & they took all the copper fitting they could before someone saw them. I got our wifey to sit with her while I called her Heating & A/C people. That night, I ordered a cage to fit over the Heating & A/C component outside. I am now locking down the Heating & A/C unit.
