Creating a running path around my yard

I am extremely dedicated to physical fitness and make exercise a daily part of my life.

I workout for a minimum of an hour, six days per week. I make an effort to change up the workout and target all the different muscle groups. However, I really prefer to just go for a long run. I invested in a top-of-the-line treadmill that I use during inclement weather. Whenever possible, I would rather run outdoors. The fresh air and sunshine get me energized, and I enjoy a more productive workout. I think that I run faster and I know that I run longer when I’m outside. At one time, I liked to go on extensive runs around the local town. I gave up on this because of issues with nasty dogs, hazardous road conditions and safety concerns. Plus, it was difficult to dress for the weather. I’d either end up wearing a jacket and feeling overheated or not be dressed warm enough and shiver the whole time. I’ve managed to solve all of these complaints by setting up a running path around the perimeter of my property. I simply treated the grass with weed spray. I’ve now run the path frequently enough to pound the ground nice and flat. The distance adds up to around a third of a mile. Because the path is hard and smooth, I can run barefoot. Since I’ve started running barefoot, I no longer deal with blisters or painful arches. It definitely benefits my feet and I really enjoy it. Plus, I have convenient access to drinking water and a bathroom.
