Never try to service an AC refrigerant leak on your own

Something was causing a hissing sound in the basement plus I wasn’t sure what it was.

At first, I thought it was a snake.

But, the hiss was endless which meant this wasn’t an creature. Instead of kneeling there scared, I decided to take a closer look. The basement had a sort of chloroform odor which I’d never smelt before. I know most folks have dingy, moldy plus dusty basements. But, mine is a storage section plus I consistently ensure it’s wash plus mold-free. This is why the odor of chloroform was new plus made myself and others know something was wrong. The closer I got to the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C unit, the more I confirmed it was the source of the hissing noise. I wasn’t sure if this was a refrigerant leak or not, but I knew I had to act fast. If I ignored it, this could affect the efficiency of the central Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C system. I went back upstairs to find our PC plus contacted the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C supplier nearby. I had a service plus service agreement with them for our Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C system plus knew they would sort myself and others out. About an hour later, there was a knock on our front door. There stood an Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C expert ready to check out the issue plus service it. She went downstairs into the basement plus asparticulared it was a refrigerant leak. There were cracks on the evaporator coils making the refrigerant to escape hence the hissing noise. The Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C expert fixed the issue plus topped up the refrigerant for me. She commended myself and others for not trying to service this issue myself plus calling the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C business.
