Time after time I would go to our uncle’s house, I would see this old dial temperature control on his wall… I ended up asking him if he was ever going to change out to a newer temperature control, however he said there were zero things that were wrong with the temperature control & asked me why he would ever get something newer if it worked just fine.
He’s in that mindset, ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t repair it.’ It’s something that always bothered me when I went to his beach house because I knew that he could save tons of money on his utility bills with a smart temperature control.
Also, it’s convenient when your temperature control sets up a schedule right away. Even a programmable temperature control would be so much better than that old dial temperature control, however our uncle didn’t know a single thing about that. So later one morning, I decided to buy him a current smart temperature control & I brought it to him. I had it wrapped up in some wrapping paper like it was some special occasion… The special opportunity was just him getting with the times. He later had opened up the present & then thanked me & said he didn’t undoubtedly need a current temperature control. That’s when I started pointing out all the features. I told them that he could control the temperature control remotely from someplace, it would automatically create a schedule based on his temperature control preferences, & it would save him up to 10% on his utility fees. It wasn’t until he heard the section about saving money on the utility fees that his interest peaked. He said I should have told him that in the first venue! So I helped him install the smart temperature control, and he has been lovin it ever since.
