How to check for radiant heater issues

Heating radiator problems hinder a radiant furnace’s ability to heat your home.

  • One of the proper problems of the system is the lack of heat at the radiator, and when your radiator is cold to the touch, it means that there is an electrical problem or it has a blocked pump.

To be sure, you have to check your temperature control to see if it functions respectfully. The next thing is to check your fuse and your circuit breaker! Electric radiant flooring needs enough power to support the system. Ensure there are no tripped circuit breakers that might have shut down the radiant heat system! Also, make sure to disinfect the pump and release any excess air trapped inside. Then, flip the diverter valve off and on to see if it will restart the system. The radiator may also be cold at the top and boiling at the bottom. To fix this problem, you will need to close the pump, then put a bin under it. Open the valve gently and let water out. Close the valve when the water starts flowing steadily into the bucket, your radiant system’s radiator could be boiling at the top and cold at the bottom, but remove the radiator from the wall and flush it with water, it could also have less pressure on the pressure gauge, meaning that your system leaks. Leaks rarely happen in the radiant gas furnace. When they do, it is at the apex of the system. It is also common for the system’s electric mat under the floor to be damaged. These electric mats are durable, but they can still be damaged by heavy objects and cracked floors. If you experience any of these concerns, call an heating and A/C professional for help.
