I dress in layers of sweaters plus wear slippers because the new home is freezing cold. A heated blanket on the bed helps at night, however it’s strenuous to get up in the afternoons. The stone floors are downright icy under my feet, and despite all my efforts, my heating bills are still a drain on my budget. The heating machine isn’t energy efficient plus the weather in this section brings temperatures down to disadvantage twenty degrees. In the summer, I just go without air conditioner! Even when it’s ninety degrees outside with high humidity, I can’t afford to run the cooling system. I plug in a few box fans plus take lots of cool showers. I can’t wait until I can afford to rent an new home with modern temperature control.
