Deciding which kind of furnace we want to install in our new home is difficult

When we decided to build a new house last year, we knew that there were going to be a lot of hard decisions that we would have to make.

  • My husband and I aren’t the greatest decision makers.

We take a lot of time to decide on things like carpet type, paint color, and even types of appliances. So when the HVAC contractor contacted us about the kind of heating system we want him to install in our new house, we knew that we had our work cut out for us. First, we did a lot of research online. We looked into different types of heating systems and we had it narrowed down to either an energy efficient electric furnace or an oil furnace. Once we had it narrowed down to those two, we started looking at reviews for different brands of furnace. The one we ended up deciding on is an energy efficient electric furnace. Most of the people who have this type of furnace say that they’ve had it for years and they’ve never had any kind of problem with it. I’m hoping that by purchasing this type of heating system, we won’t have to call our HVAC company for heating repairs and furnace maintenance very often. I’m also looking forward to lowered heating and cooling bills once we are moved into the new house. The old type of baseboard heating that we had at our other house was very expensive, and so I hope the energy efficient furnace will save us a lot of money in the long run.
