Something quite strange has been happening at work that I have never had to deal with before. I don’t know if it is just me being paranoid or if there is actually something of substance, but I have a feeling that I have a customer who is in love with me. For the past three months or so, I have been sent out on calls to this person’s house to “fix” their heating and cooling unit almost every other day! It would be one thing if this person was just a customer who was extremely cautious about the health of their state of the art heating and cooling unit, but I am always the one that they specifically as for as the repairman! Whenever I arrive to the house, they seem to be more interested in talking to me about non work related things than the actual problem at hand. I can’t even count at this point just how many times I have had to kindly reject an offer of coffee or if I want to take a break and watch a movie with them. In my opinion this is slowly getting out of hand! Unfortunately for me though, my boss down at the HVAC heating and cooling company doesn’t see it that way at all. In fact he sees this as the perfect opportunity for us to bring in “easy” money, and a great opportunity for me to “build customer relations” since I have only been working in this area as a repairman for a year or two. If things keep escalating, I think that I will have to head back up north where is used to work, or somewhere that I don’t have to worry about having a stalker attack me while I am fixing their heating unit!
