Since she got the dog she hasn’t been complaining so much about the cost anymore
My wife really wanted to get a dog while I did not. Of course, that meant that we got a dog. However, I put my foot down on letting the dog onto the furniture. To my surprise the dog never really tried to climb onto the couches or beds. She seemed to want to please me. Or, maybe it’s just because she’s a small dog and can’t get onto the furniture without help. I think the real reason the dog doesn’t try to get onto the furniture, though, is because she just loves our heated floors. A few years back I talked my wife into having our furnace replaced with electric heated floors. It was a huge task. The construction made a big mess but I feel it was worth it in the long run. Now the heat radiates upward like it’s meant to do and our whole house stays warm and comfortable all year long. Although, my wife loves to complain about how much installing the heated floor cost us. Since she got the dog she hasn’t been complaining so much about the cost anymore. The next time she mentions the cost of the heated floors I’m just going to tell her that I got it done because I knew she would get a dog someday and that I really got the heated floors for the dog. Of course, if I try to complain about any mess the dog makes my wife can simply remind me that the dog hasn’t made anywhere near as much mass as the workers did when they installed the floors.
