It’s hard to really believe that our offices have been essentially closed for a year.
Actually, it’s a bit longer than a year now.
However, all this pandemic mess feels like it’s been going on for five years. It hasn’t been an easy year. Working from the HVAC comfort of home has been an exercise in holding onto my business. Initially, that’s all I had hoped to do. As we are a sales driven company who implements their own product designs onsite for our customers, I was scared we wouldn’t survive. My partner and I started this business just about 7 years ago. And working from the air conditioning at home was never the plan. However, our people rallied, took a pay cut and kept us afloat. Any profit the company made during the pandemic year is going straight to our personnel and back into the company. As part of that, I have a heating and cooling surprise for everyone when they come back to the office. My partner and I have taken turns keeping the office running to whatever degree we could. And in that time, I contracted with an HVAC company to do something special for our people. When the staff comes back, they will find that our heating and cooling is now zone controlled HVAC. This will solve some specific heating and cooling comfort issues and be a very welcome addition to our office environment. We will now have 6 separately controlled HVAC zones throughout the office. The new HVAC equipment and some well deserved bonuses won’t make up for the pandemic year. But I hope it’s a start.
