I don’t like it when life throws monkey wrenches at you. Anything that tangles up the cogs in the wheels, drives me crazy. I want to be prepared for nearly anything, but I wasn’t sure what I would do if I didn’t have a furnace. I went online to see what people did to stay warm, when there wasn’t a furnace available to keep you warm. I didn’t ever want to be without a furnace, but it was good to know. I lived in an area where we lost power during storms. My parents’ furnace broke down one time and we lived in a hotel until a new one could be installed. I couldn’t afford a hotel, let alone a new furnace, at least not at this moment. I had one girl that I worked with tell me that she lived in sweatpants and sweatshirts, along with using her blankets as a jacket. She spent a week like this, while waiting for her furnace to be repaired. I didn’t know if I could handle going with heating for a week, but I was about to find out. I got home a couple days later, only to realize that my furnace wasn’t working. I remembered what my friend had said and I pulled out my sweatpants and sweatshirts. I had all of the blankets out and ready to cuddle up under. I wasn’t planning on calling the HVAC company until I got my paycheck, but it wasn’t about to work out that way. I couldn’t handle the bitter cold that was in my house. I was hurting all over from the cold and it didn’t matter what I did, I wasn’t getting warm. I called the HVAC company and asked them to send out a technician.
