I Couldn’t Understand Anything on My HVAC Bill:

When my furnace went out at the beginning of winter, I searched and searched for the best HVAC business to repair it.

Since winter was just beginning, almost all the HVAC businesses were charging a hefty fee for the rush and demand.

Thankfully, I found a company who only charged a thirty dollar home visit fee, and then whatever the expenses were for the repair work needed. I scheduled them to come to my house the following afternoon, and I waited patiently for them to show up. When the HVAC technician was an hour late, I was irritated. However, I knew it was a busy time for HVAC businesses, so I let it slide. The technician worked on my furnace for thirty minutes, and had my heat running again. When I asked him what was wrong with it, he gave me a really general response that didn’t tell me much about the problem. He seemed to be in a hurry to leave as well. He handed me the bill in an envelope, and told me that I could send in a check or pay the balance over the phone. When he left, I opened the bill and was baffled at the price. There was an entire list of services and parts listed, along with high price tags next to them. The worst part was that I couldn’t understand any of it. How could one man charge so much for thirty minutes?! I had a hard time believing the HVAC technician did any of the things listed in 30 minutes. I had to call the business and demand a breakdown of the bill, and I’m still disputing the service!
